Some Realities Regarding the Biography of Martyr Nasr Esfahani

Martyr Colonel Mohammad Jafar Nasr Esfahani was son of Taghi. He was born in 1960 in Manar Jonban neighborhood of Esfahan province. He went to school after ending his childhood.

He continued his education until the time that he got his diploma qualification in the field of Mathematics from Esfahan city.

According to the reporter of Chemical Weapons Victims Information Base, In February 1979 during the climax of people uprising and conflicts, he was studying in high school. He took part in the demonstrations which would be raised against Shah’s regime. He would do some activities such as distributing announcements of Imam Khomeini among the people.

After getting his diploma, he went to the military service on February 04, 1980. After accomplishing his military training in the Birjand Military Training Center, he was sent to the military group 44 of Esfahan Artillery.

Since he had a revolutionary and religious morale in the military group 44, he took part in the activities of Islamic Society and during these days he got familiar with Major Sayad Shirazi and the other officers who had cooperation with him.

When the war started in 1980, during the initial months along with some other fighters, he voluntarily applied to go to the war. During the first day of his presence in the battlefields of Soosangerd he was injured and he was taken to hospital.

In 1981, he was appointed as a commander by Colonel Sayad Shirazi and he continued his service in his office.

After passing 18 months of necessity term and six months service of Caution, his military service was finished on February 04, 1982, but he still voluntarily continued his service in the Commandership. During this time based on the mediatory of one of the officers, he got married with a religious girl from a religious family.

Based on the recommendation of General Sayad Shirazi and his close friends, he chose serving in the Army as his permanent job. He went to the Military Officers University in 1982.

During the time that he was in the officer’s university, he was a talented, religious, political and wise guy. He had a good behavior as well.

During the war, though the center of artilleries was in Esfahan city, but he chose the infantryman unit. So he went to the Amy 28 of Sanandaj and he was involved in two battles. In fact this unit was one of the units which had to face with many dangers and risks as well.

He was severely injured in 1988 during a military operation which took place in Marivan war zone. He was wounded in Panjowin war zone as well and he was taken to the hospital. During this time the Iraqi Baathist regime employed chemical weapons against the war zones and he was severely exposed to chemical weapons too.

From 1994 to 1988, he served in the following jobs:

- Investigation of the Army 28 of Sanandaj- Excellence Era for the infantrymen

- The commander of Military Students in the Officers University

- Headquarters of Northwest of NAZAJA

- NAZAJA Investigation

- Deputy and Commander of Commandos Battalion 45

In 1994 he got the ranking of colonel and he was appointed as the commander of the Brigade 1 of the Army 23 and he continued his service.

In 1995 he was the commander of the Brigade 1 of the Army 77 of Samen Al-Ameh, so based on his tendency; he went to the southern war zones.

Though his physical health condition was not fine and a surgery had been done on his stomach a few months earlier, but he would continue doing his responsibility.

In 1996 his health condition got worse due to his injuries and the effects of chemical weapons. He was hospitalized for a long period of time. Eventually this respectful commander of the Iran-Iraq war was martyred on Saturday, November 09, 1996.
