The present research is intended to study the characteristics of the shahed wives’ characteristics such as age, age at the time of marriage, age at the time of widowhood, literacy level, average number of the children, family dimension, occupational characteristics, geographical distribution, and accommodation as well as economical condition and …it also surveys the effects of the mothers’ jobs on the education of the students. The population of the research includes the martyrs’ widows who did not marry again in Tehran, Shemiran, Shahr Rey, and Shahriar in Karaj. Sampling was conducted at random and finally 196 persons were chosen. The means of the research is questionnaire. The parametric t and f tests as well as Tuki test were used. The results of the research indicate that:
1.Mothers’ occupation has positive effects on education of the children. The occupation of the shahed wives in the cultural _ educational institutes has positive effects on education of the children. The age of the employed mothers has not any effect on education of the children. While the older the house keeping mothers are the less the educational status of the children will be. Better social and economical stance of the shahed families will lead to the success of the shahed children in their education.
2.There was not meaningful difference among the educational successes of the shahed children of those mothers who are employed at different stages while there is meaningful difference between educational successes of the shahed children at primary and secondary schools whose mothers are house keepers in a way that the educational successes of the shahed children at primary schools is more than that of the secondary school students.
