The present research is aimed at investigating and identifying the social, cultural and personal criteria that the single students, as an educated group, have in their mind in marriage.
The research methodology is descriptive and the community of research includes all the male and female students who are studying at the faculty of humanities in the University of Shahed , the number of whom is 300 students.
The sample of the research includes 75 students which are composed of 25 single female and 50 single male students. The means for collecting data is questionnaire (which contained questions about identification, multiple tests and question about their points of view).
The results of the research are:
1.The idea that males and females students have different views about age difference as an effective factor in marriage is not proved.
2.The idea that males and females students have different views about the kind of job they expect their future wife or husband is proved.
3.The amount income is one of the elements that the male and female students consider for marriage.
4.There is not meaningful difference between male and female students about the existence of a period, before marriage, to know each other better.
5.The idea that males and females students have different views about the sociability of their future husband or wife is not confirmed.
6.The idea that males and females students have different views about coming from the same city is not confirmed.
7.The idea that males and females students have different views about their consideration of their parents’ ideas in marriage is not confirmed.
8.The idea that males and females students have different views about religious tendencies is not proved.
