Unknown Destiny of 60,000 Documents and Photos of Imam Khomeini and Islamic Revolution in Iraq

TEHRAN,(SCIB) - A former employee in Iraq news agency announced the news about unknown destiny of over 60,000 documents and photos of Imam Khomeini and Islamic Revolution in this country.

According to the reporter of Navideshahed from Khoozestan; Aboukazem, the old Iraqi photographer and reporter, who lives in south of this country at the present time, exhibited some unique photos of Imam Khomeini in Najaf and Basreh cities. In this regard, he said: “Ba’thi regime of Iraq controlled Imam Khomeini and his companions since start of its government in Iraq. Ba’thi regime had organized a 60- person group to control Imam Khomeini and his companions. This group consisted of photographers, reporters, informers as well as security and guard officers.”? These supervisions became more during 50s when Saddam had become more powerful. In addition to photos and news about Imam Khomeini, the tapes of his classes and lectures were listened and collected by Ba’thi forces, he added. Iraqi governments had collected over 60,000 photos and documents about Imam Khomeini and his companions till the obligatory departure of Imam Khomeini from Iraq. An important part of these documents are about interest of clergymen and people of Iraq in Imam Khomeini, Aboukazem said. These documents were kept in “Estekhbarat”? (Intelligence Service) of Baghdad, Najaf Ashraf and Basreh cities. And Iraqi government categorized this information as “Full Secret”?. And a limited number of Iraqi officials had access to these documents, he further mentioned. This retired Iraqi reporter and photographer has over 70 unique photos of Imam Khomeini. He expressed hope that he would deliver these photos of Imam Khomeini to Iranian officials and “Foundation for Preservation of Monuments and Dissemination of Values of Sacred Defense”? in the near future.
