The present research is intended to investigate the educational progress of the male and female shahed and non _ shahed students. The research methodology is causative _ comparative.
The research community includes all the male and female shahed students of Tehran province studying at grade three in high schools during academic year of 2001 _ 2002.
The research samples are 100 persons in total whom the researcher has chosen categorically. In order to compare the educational progress of the students the average of their first semester has been used. The results show that the male shahed students make better progress than the non _ shahed male counterparts and the female shahed students make better performance than the non _ shahed female students.
