This research under the title of theoretical principles of martyrdom in Qur’an and Bible, has been made ready in 8 chapters:
Chapter 1: Expressions such as “Al – Jihad, Al – Shahadat – Al – Ghetal, Al – Nafar, Al – Harb, Al – Zahf”? are explained; in this chapter different ideas about martyrdom have been investigated. The topics of the other chapters are:
Chapter 2: Terms such as martyrdom in the Old Testament and New Testament as well as the position of the martyrs in Torah and Bible as well as other religions are discussed.
Chapter 3: Surveying the term martyrdom and its applications in Quran and other cases where martyrdom is regarded as killing for God’s sake.
Chapter four: Jihad and Fighting for the sake of God are surveyed and analyzed by the use of 150 ayahs.
Chapter 5, 6, and 7: Surveying the position of the fighters by the use of 50 hadiths from Nahj Al Balagheh, Sahifeh Sajaddieh, and Ahadiths of Sunnis and Shiites.
Chapter 8: Comparing Islam and Christianity and subjects about martyrdom from the point of view of Martyr Morteza Motahhari.
By bringing a will at the end of the thesis the research finishes.
