Maryam Hatami in an Interview with Shahed: Pathology of Modern Art, Undeniable
TEHRAN, (SCIB) -Maryam Hatami, the creator of “Party of Light”? art work in the exhibition told the reporter of Shahed Cultural Information Base in an exclusive interview: “Every art has unfavorable things when it is formed.
And it should be purified in order to be in accordance with the culture of a region and grow and reach to perfection. Purifying art is its pathology. Despite those who think that this field has not entered the new stage, I believe that this art is entering new branches which should be organized.”? As for her art works she explained to Shahed: “In order to create this art work, the shapes of several boots have been carved on the floor around an empty circular space. There is a cylinder of light in the center of this circle from the floor to the ceiling of the gallery. The source for this light is a projector connecting to the ceiling.”? Here the cylinder of art associates ascension or in other words martyrdom. And that is a symbol inspired from heavenly fruits, Maryam Hatami concluded.
