Schedule of Tir 7th commemoration events announced

TEHRAN, (SCIB) - In a meeting in Ahwaz, the details of the ceremony to commemorate the martyrs of Tir 7th (June 28th) were agreed on.

The day marks the 16th anniversary of the explosion at the headquarters of the Islamic Republican party in which Ayatollah Dr. Beheshti and 72 of the closest and most loyal allies of the Islamic Revolution attained martyrdom. Reza Nejati, deputy governor of Ahwaz in socio-political matters sressed the significant role of 7th of Tir martyrs. “The victory of the Islamic Revolution was a heavy blow to the enemies of Islam and the Islamic Revolution. This was why they resorted to violence and terror”? he noted. “ The enemies efforts to undermine the Islamic revolution was not only in vain, but also paved the way for the thriving of the Islamic Revolution to its present point by remaining loyal to the ideals of Dr. Beheshti and his associates. This is the outcome of remaining loyal to an Ashoorayee school of thought.”? he added. Another attendant of the meeting, Hojjatoeslam Moradi, who is the head of the committee of Islamic propagation in Khoozestan noted: “Martyr Beheshti is not just an individual; He marks a culture and a way of thinking. The reasons and outcomes of the Tir 7th events have to be clarified for today’s society, in particular the youth”? The rest of the attendants also discussed their viewpoints on the proper organization of the week to commemorate the martyrs of Tir 7th. The events planned for the week of commemoration were announced as follows: Commemoration ceremony, Photo exhibition, exhibition of books and biographies of martyrs of Tir 7th, Poetry evening, cultural, arts and sports contests and a visit to the families of the martyrs of this day.
