Paintings of Khoramshahr Grand Mosque Inaugurated

TEHRAN, (SCIB) - An opening ceremony was held to show paintings of Khoramshahr Grand Mosque on the occasion of anniversary of freeing Khorramshahr.

Khorramshahr people and state and local officials attended the opening ceremony, Shahed Cultural Information Base reported. The ceremony was held after saying Maghreb and Esha prayers at Khoramshahr Grand Mosque. It was concurrent with my 24th, the anniversary of freeing Khorramshahr. According to the report, Nasser Palangi the painter of mentioned paintings said: “May 24th was the day was the epic and spiritual heyday of Iranian people. Khorramshahr is not merely a city. But it is the symbol of resistance and spirituality of Iranian people. Khoramshahr is able to –and should be- the cultural and art capital of the sacred defense. Iranian artists should show different dimensions of the epic with their art which is the international way to express.”? As for his paintings in Khoramshahr Grand Mosque, he said: “the paintings have been painted in 1982 after freeing Khoramshahr in six months. They are painted in 5 pieces. Each piece has been painted on 10 square meters in symbolic style.”? Paintings in Khorramshahr Grand Mosque remind of spiritual and epic dimensions of Iranian youth and also the people in south of Iran, Palangi concluded.
