Mohammad Farnoud Said to Shahed: War Issues Will Not Be Solved by Mottos

TEHRAN, (SCIB) - We should not use the war literature anymore. We should accept that no problem is solved by mottos, Mohammad Farnoud, the war news photographer said to Shahed Cultural Information Base.

The duty of governmental and non governmental organizations should be paving grounds to transfer the achievements of those who created sacred defense literature. As a war news photographer, I have fulfilled my duty during the war time. Today my duty is exhibiting my photos. And different organizations should carry out required activities in order to pave the ground for making the next generation familiar with the situation during the war. It can be achieved during a long term period and in an appropriate atmosphere, Mahmoud Farnoud said. He further added: “considering the functional role of photos the photographers of war were in charge of a hard duty. And they fulfilled it despite all problems. If we plan that the next generation communicates with concepts of Isar and martyrdom, we should show the pure reality of war -far from emotional effects- by using media works and taking advantage of the modern technology. We should interpret the issue of war properly. The next generation will not understand the war otherwise we present proper commentaries, studies and critics of the war. They will be kind of stranger with the culture of isar and martyrdom.”? Farnoud as a pioneer war photographer criticized the high expenses allocated for holding ceremonies and said: “How much money have been spent for infrastructural artistic affairs? How many museums have been constructed to keep war documents? What is while tens of millions rials have been spent for holding one ceremony.”? War is not an issue which is exclusively attended at “Sacred Defense Week”?. It belongs to the whole history of our country. We should limit ourselves to holding ceremonies –with high expenses- for honoring and making it as a basic issue. In addition to current and next generation the Iranian people in abroad are willing to know the war realities. Appropriate steps have been taken in this regard. But we should not forget the fact that major achievement of the war is epic and the side effects of war. We should know and accept them in order to face with war issues realistically, Farnoud declared. We should accept the fact that was is an ugly phenomenon. In particular, it is ugly when it is imposed to a country and it should defend. War has deeply affected the framework of the society and still exists within the layers of our lives. Pathology of war is an essential subject. The side effects of the war should be properly known by specialist people. We should know the route of discordant behaviors in the society. This way we can make the second and third generation familiar with realities of the war. They have been less involved in war and just have heard memories of war. They don’t have clear imagination and understanding about war. Then they can have better understanding about the years between 1980 and 1988, Mohammad Farnoud the war photographer concluded.
