Mousavi Garmaroudi: “Sacred defense poetry approaching international standards”?

TEHRAN, (SCIB)- Sacred defense poetry has made notable progress in the recent years and seems to be approaching international standards., Ali Mousavi Garmaroudi stated, in an exclusive interview with Shahed. “The poet of Sacred defense bases his poetry on his inspirations of war, his experience, patriotic notions and his sense of freedom. This kind of poetic inspiration is particular to the poetry of sacred defense; it entails the incorporation of all human values in a line of poetry.”? Mousavi Garmaroudi said. “The poetry of 1980’s is considered a ‘spoken’ kind of poetry. It has disposed of the restrictions of form such as rhyme; instead, it focuses on the content.”? “Of course, the poetic structure does matter. But many concepts just can not be dealt with in classic poetry due to its structural limitations. In this respect, the poetry of Sacred defense has also deployed a modern poetic structure to address its more modern concepts.”? The poet of “Deluge of frowns”? recognizes the necessity of pathology of the poetry of sacred defense. “Poetry is like a deluge. It has to be directed in the proper way otherwise it has the capacity to destroy everything. The literature of Sacred defense, therefore, strongly needs to be regulated and directed in the appropriate way.”? he said. Mousavi Garmaroudi stressed the need for young poets to accumulate enough knowledge and experience by constant reading. “Young poets do not yet have enough experiences. They may think that putting down every overflow of sentiment on the paper can be called poetry. What the poet needs in addition to the sentiments, is constant reading and experiencing of the world.”? “Of course, the experience of war is different for the two generation of poets. One has only experienced war through books and films; the other has had a first-hand experience of war which entails a totally different impression of sacrifice, martyrdom, enemy, homeland and even freedom. Since the individuals’ impressions are different, they obviously write differently as well.”? Garmaroudi concluded.
