A thesis was prepared with the title of " Religious belief and sacred defense " by Kambiz Azadi Keimour . He had prepared the thesis to transfer the meaning of the war to the youth generation . Kambiz Azadi Keimour prepared a thesis with a title of " Religious belief and sacred defense " in 2000 . The thesis was conducted in 5 chapters ; Prophet Muhammad's battles for defending Islam , the war among Iraq and Iran , the effects of the imposed war , religious belief and the 8 years imposed war .

The writer had chosen the topic " Religious belief and sacred defense " for three reasons :

1) He liked to have research in this field since he had participated in the fore front

2) Somebody still believe that patriotism and nationalistic sense are the most important elements of the Islamic Revolution Victory . they really did not believe in religion and Islamic values .many people had known the war as important as prayer and they fought against the crucial regime which leaded to Islamic victory .

3) It is necessary to transfer the meaning of the war to the youth generation , since many of them were not born or were too young to remember .

This thesis is prepared by a descriptive method . the researcher used 24 sources to complete it , he also used the books which were about the crusades .

To mean the word Jihad , the writer had used different Hadiths and Holy Quran verses and their roles in the society .

At first the writer mentioned the wars ; Badr , Ohod , Ahzab , Honin , Tabouk then he deals with the Iraqi war against Iran and the roles of the super powers in the war , he also mentioned Imam Khomeini's statements .
