NAVIDESHAHED: Seyyed Assadullah Lajevardi was born in Tehran in 1935. He abandoned his education during his adolescence and began working with his father. Later, he turned to seminary studies and acquired what was required. Martyr Lejevardi joined the struggles with start of Islamic movement of Iranian people led by Imam Khomeini and played a prominent role in foundation of Islamic Motalefeh groups in 1962. Accompanied by Martyrs Beheshti and Motahhari, he decided to coalite against Pahlavi Regime and attempted many activities in this regard. He was arrested, for the first time, subsequent to revolutionary execution of the then Prime Minister Hassan-Ali Mansour and continued struggle and being imprisoned till the victory of Islamic Revolution. After the victory, he was appointed Chief Prosecutor of Tehran by Ayatollah Beheshti and later was charged with Head of the Prisons Organization. After various failed attempts, Monafeghin eventually assassinated him on August 22, 1998, when he was 63. After a glorious funeral procession, his body was buried at Behesht Zahra besides the martyrs of 28 June 1981.
