The First Time Leader Was Dispatched to War

According to Fars News Agency Epic and Resistance Service, when the Imposed War Era began by the Iraqi Baathist regime on September 22, 1980, a good opportunity was provided to believe the talents of youths and the growth of intellectuality, belief and deep religious beliefs in them.

The battlefield was a great university for the great humans who have strong belief, courage in God and those who were the fans of Imam Hussein (AS); also the war provide a good opportunity for the clerics to use it intellectually and to empower the revolution and to introduce it to the youths and people of the world.

Ayatollah Khamenei in the position of the representative of Imam Khomeini in the Defense Excellence Council benefited from this opportunity so much. The current supreme leader of Iran expresses his happiness for wearing the military uniform and doing to the battlefields as follows:

“At the beginning of the war, when seven, eight or ten days passed, we noticed that most of the news were disappointing for us; of course I was the representative of Imam Khomeini in the Defense Excellence Council and the spokesman of this council; I noticed that nothing can be done by me; also my heart was beating for this issue and I could not wait anymore. I went to Imam Khomeini as I was so worried. Imam Khomeini would always ask us to protect ourselves and to be so careful. I told Imam: “Please let me go to Ahvaz or Dezful; maybe I will be able to do something.”? He allowed me to go there so immediately. I got so delighted and happy in a way that I felt I had wings to fly.

Also the late Chamran had sat down there and he said: “So let me go to the war as well.”? He said, ok, you may go to the war as well…

Someday we moved towards the battlefields along with the late Chamran. We arrived to Ahvaz city at the beginning of night. We created a small group during the first night. They were supposed to pick R.P.Gs and guns and to attack the enemy forces… we would do the same operation every night.”?
