They aimed to occupy the Spy Nest (the U.S. embassy) in Manameh. The protestors had held the photos of Imam Khomeini, the supreme leader of Iran ‘Ayatollah Khamenei’ and the Lebanon’s secretary general ‘Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah’.

The situation saddened the Al Khalifa authorities; that is why they demanded the security forces to attack the protestors. Due to this attack of the security forces of Al Khalifa to the protestors which took place on April 5, 2002, Mohammad Jomeh Al-Shakhori was wounded and he was immediately taken to hospital. He was martyred after two days passing from that event on April 7, 2002.

On the next day of his martyrdom a funeral procession was held there by presence of tens of thousands of Bahraini residents. They attended the funeral procession and they chanted the slogans down with Zionism and down with the United States of America. The pure body of this martyr was buried in a public graveyard in Shakhoreh graveyard.
