According to Fars News Agency's epic and resistance reporter, Martyr Habibollah Palash was born in 1969 in Dezful city. He was martyred at the age of 16 during the final stage of the military operation ‘Valfajr 8’ which took place in February 1986. What you read here is a memory regarding this respectful martyr which has been mentioned in the web log A from Dezful:
• It was the military operation Valfajr 8. The war veterans had passed from Arvand River. The enemy’s frontier line had been broken. The defensive forces had stationed in the free shore zone and a group had been prepared to purge the enemy trenches and rifle pits. One of the enemy heavy guns had started opening fire on us. We needed to move forward and to accomplish the military operation. In fact we needed to defeat this shooter to make our victory complete. Some minutes pass and the Iraqi shooter did not whish to end his fires towards our forces. Suddenly we observed that the shooter did not shoot anymore and it got quiet.
We thought that the chain of his bullets has been ended. But no, it was not like this. A few minutes passed and we did not hear the sound of that shooting anymore. I raised my head slowly. I noticed that everything is calm. I stood up and then sat down. It was dark. In the darkness of night I only observed the shadow of two persons who were far away from us and they were getting closer to us. One of them was a tall man and the other was short man. They were moving towards us slowly. The one who was shorter had raised his hand in a way that it had reached the head of the taller man.
We were so surprised by seeing this scene. Many questions formed in my mind. The Iranian war veterans asked them to stop, suddenly the other side said:
“Don’t shoot, I’m Habib…Habib Palash…don’t open fire.”?
When the shadow came closer, we observed that he was Habib Palash. The Iraqi soldier was very tall, in a way that Habib had hardly stretched his hand in order to hold the ear of him.
Habib had pressed the ear of the Iraqi soldier so badly and the Iraqi soldier had been frightened so much. After that he handed him over to our forces.
We said: Who is he? How did you capture him?
Habib said: He is the shooter who was opening fire towards us. I went there so furtively and I pressed his ear and I took him here.”?
We did not know whether we should laugh or to get surprised of the Habib’s courage.
This action was not something simple at all. He was only a 16-year-old Basiji and he had held the ear of an Iraqi shooter. He had been able to go there and capture him.
To be honest this action is not an easy action even in words, but if we want to see it real it is an extraordinary action.
The commander had no reply except silence against the great action of Habib.
Suddenly the scene of the few nights ago was imagined for me.
Our commander ‘Mr. Fazilat’ was boosting the morale of our forces in order to prepare them for the military operation. He was saying: “We can defeat the enemy by relying on God and by joining the pure morale of martyrdom seeking. Sine you have a great morale and courage, you can go to the frontiers and hold the ears of Iraqi shooters and put them away from sitting behind the guns.”?
Although on that night Mr. Fazilat expressed these words as a proverb in order to boost the morale of the forces, but on the military operation night, I saw it with my own eyes that Habib Palash made these words into a reality.
The End
