Artists Basij Organization's Martyr of the Year Commemoration to be Held

The Cultural Deputy Head of the Artists Basij Organization in an exclusive interview with the reporter of Chemical Weapons Victims Information Base declared: “This commemoration will be held on Wednesday, July 11, 2012 from 18:00 to 20:00 at Professor Naseri’s Hall located in the House of Artists.

Gholam Ali Yazerlu continued: “During the commemoration which will be held for this outstanding martyr of Artists Basij, the photographers, artists, comrades, the martyrs families and authorities of Mostazaafan Basij will be present as well.”?

He added: “During this commemoration, Dr. Hussein Ghanadiyan, the head of Artists Basij Organization will give speech and in addition to glorifying the family of martyr Janbozorgi, a documentary film related to the biography of this martyr will be displayed too.”?

The cultural Deputy of the Artists Basij Organization at the continuation of his words said: “Also during this commemoration a professional round table will be held by presence of outstanding artistic characters such as Nader Taleb Zadeh, Seifollah Samadiyan and Ehsan Rajabi. This round table will be about the capabilities and main activities of martyr Janbozorgi in the field of sacrifice and martyrdom.”?

He also notified: “The commemoration for martyr Janbozorgi will be held by Iran’s House of Photographers Society, Artists Basij Organization and the Cultural Affairs Center of the Army 27 of Mohammad Rasul Allah (May God Send Greetings to Him).”?

Martyr Saeed Janbozorgi was born on March 3, 1966 in Rei city. He was only 15 years old when he decided to go to the Iran-Iraq war. At first he joined the Basij Organization and then he joined the Islamic Revolutionary Corps in 1983. He started his service in the Propaganda unit. In 1983 during the military operation “Badr”? he was exposed to chemical weapons and he was hospitalized. After a few months he was discovered and he went back to the battlefields of Iran-Iraq war once again.

During the military operation “Karbala 5”? a bullet passed close to his head and he survived the same as a miracle. Saeed Janbozorgi took part in the military operation “Valfajr 10”? which took place in Halabja and he was exposed to chemical weapons in 1988 as he was taking photos under the chemical bombardments. After the war, he continued his education and in 1996 he was opted as superior university student of photography field. Eventually this respectful chemically injured patient was martyred after undergoing four surgeries and as a result of Iraq’s chemical warfare effects in 2002 in Shahid Mustafa Khomeini Hospital. His pure body was buried in the piece 29 of the public graveyard of Tehran city.
