Explain Lady Fatima's Passions instead of Eulogy and Chest Beating

According to Fars News Agency's ethics and thought correspondent, as we get closer to the martyrdom anniversary of her Excellency Zahra (S), holding commemorations, eulogizing and mourning gets increased in the committees. That is why reviewing the statement of supreme leader during a visit with the members of ‘Special Group’ and ‘Islamic Knowledge Group’ of Broadcasting Organization of Islamic Republic of Iran in 1991 seems to be necessary.

In a section of his speech he said: “Another issue that I would like to talk about is the issue of eulogy. Mourning by beating chest and eulogy must exist but not in any commemoration. You must know that eulogizing and mourning and crying is not for all the innocent Imams and religious persons; it is related only to some of them. Sometimes there is a commemoration and someone eulogize in order to make the hearts of attendees to ache and then they cry, that is no problem, if it occurs. I think that mourning is something different than eulogizing and beating chest.

Ayatollah Khamenei stressed on this issue and he said: “Eulogizing and beating chest is a special commemoration which must be held for Imam Hussein (AS) and at most related to some of the innocent Imams and not in an expanded level. For example it must take place at the night of Tasua and Ashura and on the night of 21st of Ramadan month. In fact mourning through beating chest and eulogizing is good for the two abovementioned commemorations; but regarding the deathd of Musa Ebn Jafar (AS) should have only eulogizing and I don’t think it is necessary to mourn by beating chest; or during the martyrdom anniversary of her Excellency Zahra (S) it is not good that we mourn by eulogizing and beating chest; it is better to express the calamities and misfortunes that occurred for her instead. Expressing the story of misfortunes and calamities make the people cry.
