Shiites' Worldwide Awakening in the Wake of Massacres

Navideshahed: Shiites massacre in Pakistan backfires as it has not suppressed but awakened Shiites all around the world.

Enemies of Shia Muslims perpetrated heinous crimes and terrorism through genocide of Shia Muslims in Pakistan. They thought Shia Muslims, scared of genocide would surrender. But, it did not happen. Instead, Shia Muslims rise to the occasion.

Shia Muslims peaceful movement has wooed worldwide support and it is for the first time that protest was staged in all over the world.

None in the world gave up but they joined hands to strengthen their position. They came to streets with children and households. Elderly people were also part of the protest. Morally, Shia Muslims have won their battle against terrorists and notorious criminals.

The protest in Pakistan caused a revival of Shia Muslims in Europe and other continents where people lodged protest in London, Toronto, etc. Rallies were also staged in the Middle Eastern states including Iran.

Shia Muslims have demanded that their inalienable rights, legitimate rights and fundamental human rights were being usurped. They believe in unity of Muslims.
But, ground realities dejected them. Gilgit-Baltistan and Balochistan have been made graveyards of Shia Muslims. Najam Sethi said in a recent analysis on a private news channel that more than 500 Shia Hazara Muslims were murdered in Quetta, Balochistan’s capital alone.

He said that internal security is the job to be done by Pakistan’s armed forces instead of police. He said federal government is equally responsible for internal security.

The peaceful movement of Shia Muslims has borne fruit. The demonstration, rallies, sits-in, etc. are the forms of the protest that has been tested. Government has assured recently that demands to punish the killers would be met in 15 days. It is a success of the peaceful movement.

However, still more needs to be done. Banned terrorist outfits are to be really banned. They are still working under new names. It is unfair. However, making genuine demands don’t mean that Shia Muslims are begging for this. But, in fact, it is their Constitutional, legal and moral right to point out to the government that they are aware of the facts what is going on. It means they are awakened and they know who their friends are and who are their enemies and the enemies’ friends.

The End
