Second Phase of Compiling Oral History of Veterans Documents

Navideshahed: “The second phase of the plan for compiling the documents related to war veterans will be started in March 2012," said the Director General of the Foundation of Martys Veterans Documents Center.

“The Foundation of Martyrs and Veterans Affairs started the first phase in 2005. It started to compile, arrange and digitalize the documents related to war veterans in order to preserve and keep these works for the future generations. During the first phase the works and documents related to more than 240000 war veterans were compiled. Also 7600000 cases in the form of digital and ordinary cases were made for the war veterans and the work of completing the rest 40000 war veterans will be done by the end of February 2012," said Mahboob Shahbazi in an exclusive interview with a Navideshahed reporte

The Director General of documentation center of the Foundation of Martyrs and Veterans Affairs declared: “After collecting the documentations of 240000 war veterans including martyrs, war veterans, the work of arrangement, digitalization and creating documentary cases of information and also necessary work to preserve and protect these works will be done in the second phase. This work will be started by compiling the oral documents of war veterans.”?

He also pointed out to this issue that the second phase is related to the oral documents of war veterans and he added: “The initial plan was focused on the biography and war veterans according to the documents, but during the second phase, we will concentrate on interviews regarding martyrs. In fact by this work we aim to compile and concentrate the oral works of martyrs and war veterans.”?

Mahboob Shahbazi notified: “The initial preparation for doing this plan was done in Esfahan province by establishing a national workshop. During this workshop the managers were trained how to get the interviews for the oral history. As a result the managers were aware of the procedure of doing the necessary things for the project.”?
