Terrorists Kill Sunni Friday Prayers Imam in Southeastern Iran

Navideshahed: A senior Iranian Sunni Muslim cleric was assassinated by unknown terrorists in the town of Rask in Iran's Southeastern Sistan and Balouchestan province.

Gunmen attacked Molavi Mostafa Jangi Zehi on the Chahbahar-Sarbaz road late on Friday.

The latest reports said that Suleiman Kohsari, an individual who was companioning the cleric, was also martyred in the attack.

No group has claimed responsibility for the murder of the cleric.

The assassinated cleric was a prominent advocate of Sunni-Shiite unity.

The cleric had escaped assassination in August 2010.

Jundollah terrorists entered the house of Jangi Zehi at the time and locked up his wife and children but the Sunni cleric was not at home at the time.

The Jundollah group has claimed responsibility for numerous terrorist attacks in Iran. The group has carried out mass murder, armed robbery, kidnapping, acts of sabotage and bombings. They have targeted civilians and government officials as well as all ranks of Iran's military.
