President in an Interview with Ecuador’s El Telegrafo Newspaper:

US is Pursuing Democracy through Violence and War

Navideshahed: President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said the US is following to revive colonialism by using force to establish democracies by using weapons.

In an interview with Ecuador’s El Telegrafo newspaper during his recent visit to the country, he said the interests of world nations now demand that the policies set by oppressive and bullying powers not to be followed since they are only after plundering the wealth of nations.

He said there are countries in the Middle East region where no elections have yet been held and where women are not allowed to drive but the US administration maintains amicable ties with them and never raises any questions about the quality of democracy, human rights and freedom there.

Condemning the US double standard approach towards other countries, the President noted that Washington accuses any state that does not obey its policies and also accuses any president who is willing to safeguard the rights of his nation.

He stressed that the reason a US daily accused the Ecuadorian president is that he was defending the rights of his nation and was not willing to forsake them because of the US interests.

On hostility of some western countries towards Iran’s nuclear program, he pointed out that the nuclear energy could be used in major areas including industries, agriculture, healthcare and medicines and power generation as a clean source of energy and thus every nation has the right to gain access to it.

Referring to the antagonistic approach of the US government towards Iran’s peaceful nuclear program, he stressed that Iran has had the maximum degree of cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency so far and answered all the questions posed by its inspectors.

Still, he added, certain countries keep repeating the claim that Iran is trying to develop an atomic bomb but they refuse to answer this fundamental question that what can a “single”? atomic bomb do compared to thousands owned by them.

Nevertheless, Dr. Ahmadinejad stressed, from the ideological point of view, Iran is not allowed to seek atomic bombs.

He pointed out that the US enjoys friendly ties with certain Middle East countries, like the Zionist regime, which possess atomic bombs.
