Navideshahed: What you read bellow is the autobiography of martyr Ayatollah Seyed Hasan Modares who in response to the application of editor of Etelaat Newspaper has written a text and this text was published by the abovementioned newspaper on Wednesday, October 31, 1827.

In the name of God, the Compassionate, the Merciful

Respectfully, I would like to say to the honorable editor of Etelaat Newspaper and to the respectful clergy of God that as you had asked me to write my autobiography for you, so here I write my autobiography summarily:

I was born in 1908. Until now I have passed 60 years of my lifetime. I was born in Sarabeh Kochu village located in Ardestan city. My father was Esmael and my grandfather was Mir Abd Al-Baghi from the tribe of Mir Abedin and right now most of them are living in the same village.

We belong to the Tabatabyee Sayyeds and we are originally from Zavareh city. The job of my father and my grandfather is propagating the religious precepts. My grandfather Mir Abdol Baghi is one of the religious persons and he immigrated to Qomsheh located in the south of Esfahan province and we learnt Persian so well. I was six years old when I immigrated there too. I spent my childhood with him. I was 14 years old when my grandfather passed away. As a result I came to Esfahan province at the age of 16 to continue my education. I stayed in Esfahan province for 13 years and I continued my education in this province. My father passed away at the age of 21; In fact I stayed in Esfahan province only for 13 years. I learnt religious precepts and Arabic language from more than 30 university professors. One of the most outstanding masters of Arabic language was Mirza Abdol Ali Harandi Nahvi who lived for 80 years. He has many great works, but since he was not so lucky, he has not become so popular. I also learnt some other sciences from the late Jahangir Khan Ghashghayee and the clergy Mola Mohammad Kashani who spent their lifetime in Sadr school of Esfahan city and they left this materialistic world. After the tobacco event, I went to the religious centers belonging to the innocent Imams. After the pilgrimage, I visited Ayatollah Haji Mirza Hasan Shirazi. Since I wanted to continue my education, I stayed in Najaf Ashraf for a while.

I stayed there to visit the shrines of innocent Imams and continue my education for 7 years. After that I returned to Esfahan province. I started teaching in a small school of Esfahan province. I would teach religious precepts and Islamic philosophy. At the moment I’m a teacher in Sepahsalar School and I ask God to let me continue my teaching like this for the rest of my lifetime. After returning form the religious centers, I only worked in the social affairs and teaching of religious affairs. I continued this job until the constitutional revolution. After this event, the situation was changed. After that according to the request of the clergy of Islam Atabat Aliyat I came to Tehran and I accepted the invitation the second round of the national council assembly as the first level of supervision for the national council assembly. I have realized and learnt the parliament courses so well until now. So for now, I think that you have seen what you should have seen and you have heard what you should have heard. During the few years that passed from the revolution, some events took place for me and I had to immigrate for two years. I accompanied the Iranian fighters who tripped to the Arabic Iraq, Syria and Istanbul. I think it was my destiny to go there. During this trip I was attacked for two times. Once I was attacked in Esfahan in Jadeh Bozorg School. Four bullets were shot towards me during a day, but they were not able to assassinate me and I did not follow them at all. For the second time, ten persons surrounded me and they opened firing squad. Four of the bullets caused deep wounds for me. Three of the bullets hit my left hand, my armpit and my shoulder. I should say that they were skillful shooters. They did not make a mistake in targeting the heart, but since God wanted me to stay alive, they efforts were useless. I should also say that one of the bullets hit my right hand too.

The End
