IRGC Senior Commander:

Collapse of Arrogant Powers, Imminent

Navideshahed: Developments in the West, specially in the US, display that the world arrogant powers are definitely on the verge of collapse, a senior commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) said.

"The enemy tried to shake the pillars of this (Iranian) nation's resistance through political isolation, economic sanctions and cultural offensive, but it failed and now this is the enemy itself which is experiencing fragility in its front as is seen in the unprecedented and rare events which are happening in the US cities," IRGC Lieutenant Commander Brigadier General Hossein Salami said on Tuesday.

He said enemies of Iran resorted to various methods and in certain cases even used a combination of all the abovementioned measures and methods to infiltrate the front of the Islamic Revolution, but to no avail.

The General said despite huge budget and efforts, enemy's dreams never came true and Iran's Islamic Revolution could defuse enemies' plots and schemes in such a way that they backfired on the enemy itself.

In October, Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei played down the decades-long antagonistic efforts made by the colonialist powers to destroy the feeling of self-reliance and self-confidence in the Iranian people, and said the huge advancements of the Iranian youths in various fields have proved ineffectiveness of this policy against Iran.

"During the last 32 years the nation's elites and youths have proved the wrongness of this anti-Iranian policy through their scientific and technological progresses which are on some occasions stunning," Ayatollah Khamenei said in a meeting with a number of Iranian elites and academic figures in the Western Kermanshah province.

The Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution called on the Iranian elites and youths to rely on their talents and double their efforts to accelerate the country's scientific progress.
