The Anniversary of Ayatollah Ashrafi Isfahani Assassination by MKO Terrorists

Martyr Ayatollah Ataollah Ashrafi Isfahani was born in a knowledgeable family in Khomeinishahr in Isfahan in 1900.

His father, Hojatollah Mirza Asadolah was a scholar and his grandfather, Hojat-Ol-Islam Mirzajafar as well as most of his ancestors, were known scholars and great scholars.

Having passed several courses in Sath (Arabic rudiments) and Islamic philosophy in ten successive years of study, he left Isfahan at the age of 22 and chose the Islamic Center in the city of Qom to carry on his studies.

The late martyr Ayatollah Ashrafi Isfahani was one of the most well known students of Grand Ayatollah Boroujerdi. He took part in most of his classes in Qom and it lasted for about 12 years.

Besides, he was taught 8 parts of metaphysics and philosophy by Imam Khomeini.

At the age of forty, he was given religious proficiency in Islam. Then he moved to Kermanshah and tried to develop Islamic Sciences there.

The deposed Pahlavi regime tried to banish the popular shcolar because of his continuous activities but as a result of his great influence with Kermanshah’s citizens and the bond between him and the people it failed.

He was threatened several times by the regime and was arrested many times by Savak (the regime's notorious security force). But what they did could not impede his activities.

Following the Islamic Revolution in 1979, Ayatollah Ashrafi was appointed Friday prayer leader of Kermanshah by Imam Khomeini. In the position, he kept boosting the accomplishments of the Islamic Revolution.

The renowned shco was assassinated in prayer sanctuary in 1982 by the terrorist MKO band who could no more withstand his enlightening role and his function in disclosing the nature of deviant political currents and hypocrite groups.

He is one of the five Iranian scholars who were assassinated by the MKO in prayer sanctuary.
