Meymak Mounts and Nasr 6 Operation

Based on a Navideshahed report, one of the series of the Nasr military operation that was mainly done in the northern and middle strips was the military operation “Nasr 6”? which took place in the mountainous areas of Meimak. The ground forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran Army according to their presence and great control over the region in the middle wars, they launched this military operation so successfully.

The Army forces started the military operation in 1987 to push back those Iraqi who had remained in the region. They started this operation with the code name of “Ya Aba Abdollah Al-Hussein”?. In order to respond the crimes of the United States of America in the Persian Gulf and alignment with the preparation of Persian Gulf defenders and with the objective of pushing back the Iraqi forces from Meimak war zone, this military operation took place by the Army forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran. The ground forces crossed the landmine grounds, explosive traps…and they targeted the mountainous areas of Meimak and they were able to capture the mountainous areas.

During the attack of the Ground Forces of Iran against the Iraqi headquarters located in the mountainous areas of Meimak, the brigades 36 and the commano bridage of the fourth coprs of Iraq were badly disintegrated. About 2620 Iraqis were killed, injured and captured during this attack.

Also following this attack, the Iranian forces shot down two Iraqi aircrafts and damaged 17 armored tanks, several artilleries, 6 helicopters and hundreds of vehicles and many light and heavy weapons.
