"Revolution Memories" Series Introduction:

On Your Way, Didn't You See the Dawn?

Navideshahed: The first volume of "Revolution Memories" series titled "on your way, didn't you see the dawn?" by Zahra Zavarian, published in 2010 by Shahed Publications.

Based on a report by Navideshahed, the book narrates Masoume and Zahra Jazayeri's memories from Islamic Revolution times, and is based on true events. The book prologue reads: "Although dear Masoume and Zahra insisted on remaining anonymous, but in order for the book to be documented and respecting the readers, the publisher begged and demanded to cite their names, and they accepted reluctantly. However, we believe this does not violate their modesty and unpretentiousness, and their great contending characters will be remembered throughout the history."

The book has 5 chapters in one of which it introduces the two main protagonists of the events that are unfolded in these chapters and include group campaigns against the tyranny of Shah's regime, the protagonists' arrest by Savak (National Intelligence and Security Organization), their torture by the regime's atrocious agents, and finally their freedom. The final chapter reads: "Nobody was left in the prison. All were freed, except me, Aliiye and Farkhonde. Aliiye was martyr Mohammad Jahanara's aunt and the verdict issued for her cited her as a number one criminal. All the prisoners were freed, except us. Me, and Farkhonde were not brought to court to stand trial, but the verdict on Alliye's case (living in secrecy and armed campaigns) was clear."

The book, authored in the form of memories and documented events, deserves reading. It should be mentioned that in the field of documented events related to women, few decent jobs are published. The publication of such books and the likes of them by Shahed Publications will fill the gap of Islamic Revolution and Imposed War documented jobs with women's central role.

Zavarian, the author of the book, applying fluency and creating an attractive atmosphere makes the readers feel as if they are in the company of protagonists. Although the book is a documented narration of the part of the lives of Jazayeri sisters, it is so attractive and alluring that after reading the first chapter, the reader is encouraged to follow the story up to its end. The events are so delicately put up that the readers feel themselves in the shoe of the protagonists.

The book is a documented narration of part of the lives of two revolutionary women whose way of life is an example of Iranian men and women's endeavors in attaining Islamic and revolutionary values.

"On Your Way, Didn't You See the Dawn?" is the first volume in the 7 volume series of "Revolution Memories" in 160 pages and a size of 10.5 * 21.5 cm by Zahra Zavarian. Shahed Publications published 3000 copies of the book priced at 16000 Rials.
