“Narrative literature”? Released TEHRAN, (SCIB) - 105th issue of the monthly magazine “Narrative Literature”? was issued in January 2007. The magazine published an interview with Alireza Karmi on Biographies and Sacred Defense Literature. The interview examines literary criteria in the three topics biography, memories and stories. Literary researcher Ali Kamreyi said in parts of his interview, “Biographies are very popular. From one point of view, this may not be at the interest of the sacred defense literature because it may give the present readers of this literature an impression of the war which may not be true. In memory writing, one has to explain certain facts to today’s readers that were obvious to the combatants. For instance, the fact the warriors would cry on the eve of an operation and then rush to the front to sacrifice their lives. This may seem unusual to today’s readers.”? In another part of his interview he refutes the compatibility of the world “veteran”? with our war culture. “What other cultures call “veteran”? are old soldiers who are only remembered in the tributes to martyrs. “Veteran”? in that sense of the term doesn’t exist in our culture.”? The literary news section of this magazine covers stories on Gabriel Garcia Marquez and his trip to Iran, Kafka Literary Prize, Firooz Zanuzi Jalali and the donation of his personal library and Jalal Al-e Ahmad Literary Prize.
