Car bomb explosion kills dozens in South Syria

Navideshahed- Dozens of people have been killed in a car bomb explosion that rocked the southwestern Syrian province of Dara’a, near the Jordanian border.

The incident occurred on Friday when an explosive-laden vehicle detonated near a mosque in the town of al-Yadouda, the so-called Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported.
The London-based pro-opposition observatory said at least 32 people, including a child and 10 militants, died in the explosion.
The sources said the death toll is expected to rise as many more were also wounded in the explosion.
Separately, at least five people were killed in the northern city of Aleppo after militants blew up mines under a hotel used by the army.
According to opposition sources, an unknown number of foreign-backed militants were also killed in heavy clashes which broke out after the attack.
The developments follow days of stepped-up military action by the Syrian government forces against militants holed up along the country’s border with Lebanon.
The Syrian army has recently conducted successful clean-up operations across the country, inflicting heavy losses on the militants.
The army launched attacks against militants in the provinces of Damascus, Aleppo, Deir ez-Zor, Homs, Idlib, Latakia and Dara’a on Tuesday and killed a large number of them.
Syria has been gripped by deadly violence since March 2011. According to reports, the Western powers and their regional allies -- especially Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and Turkey -- are supporting the militants operating inside Syria.
