Martyr Ayatollah Fazlollah Mahallati

Navideshehed- Martyr Mahallati liked justice and abhorred discrimination and never misused his social status. He played a worthwhile role during the Sacred Defense and in return for his endeavors he was honored by martyrdom.

Martyr Ayatollah Fazlollah Mahalati was born in Mahalat in 1930. He entered Qom Seminary in 1945 and benefitted from the presence of such grand teachers as Ayatollah Broujerdi, Imam Khomeini, Allameh Tabatabaee and Martyr Sadouqi. His political activities began in 1947 and subsequent to his making acquaintance with Fedayeen Islam (Devotees of Islam) and the late Ayatollah Kashani.
After the coup of August 19, he was apprehended and then exiled to Mashhad owing to his harsh speech against Oil Consortium and the Shah’s coup. With the launch of Imam Khomeini’s movement, his political activities increased leading to his repeated imprisonments. On the eve of the victory of the Islamic Revolution he was a diligent member of the welcoming committee of Imam Khomeini and in post-Shah era served as Imam’s representative to the central committee. In the 1st term of the Islamic Consultative Assembly he was elected as the representative of Mahalat and Delijan and later was appointed as Imam Khomeini’s representative to the Guardian Corps.
On February 20, 1986, Imam Khomeini’s representative to Islamic Revolution Guardian Corps, Ayatollah Fazlollah Mahalati accompanied by 8 members of Majlis inclusive of Abolqasem Razaqi, Seyyed Noreddin Rahimi, Qolamreza Soltani, Mehdi Yaqoubi, and Abolqasem Damqani as well as Muhammad Kalatei, Ali Moarefi Zadeh, and Seyyed Hassan Shahcheraqi and some other judges and authorities of the Islamic Republic were setting off towards battlefields that their plane was targeted by two Iraqi fighters and crashed in the neighborhood of Ahwaz leading to martyrdom of all its passengers.
