** Bazargan’s being appointed the Prime Minister of the Interim Government was formally declared. The decree on his Prime Ministership, approved by consensus of the members of Council on Islamic Revolution and endorsed by Imam Khomeini, was read by Hojatoleslam Rafsanjani at the presence of Imam Khomeini and Mr. Bazargan.
** In the decree, Imam Khomeini charged Bazargan with holding referendum on regime change to Islamic Republic, establishment of Constituent (Experts) Assembly for adoption of the Constitution, holding of parliamentary election based on newly approved Constitution and appointment of ministers regardless of party affinities. In the decree its has come, “At the suggestion of the Council on Islamic Revolution and in accordance with the canonical and legal rights which originated from the vote of overwhelming majority of Iranian nation for leadership of the movement which has been represented in the vast gatherings and wide and numerous demonstrations across Iran, I, hereby, appoint you the authority to establish the interim government.”?
** After the decree was read, Engineer Bazargan said, “I really thank God who has bestowed upon me this credit and fame which have made me legible through the eyes of Ayatollah to trust me with the position to which I think I am not that much appropriate. I am really thankful to the Iranian nation…”?
** After Bazargan lecture as the Prime Minister, Imam Khomeini delivered some statements in which he requested people to express their opinions towards Bazargan administration through the press and calm rallies. In an earlier interview he had said, “Opposition to this government is opposition to religion.”?
** After Imam Khomeini’s exit, Bazargan answered Bakhtiar threat of putting him in jail and said, “I do not fear this warning. If they want to threaten us, they should resort to other things. This is a trivial issue that if is fulfilled, I’ll be in person thankful, because I’ll be relaxed.”?
** Radio Moscow interrupted its programs to broadcast the news on Bazargan Prime Ministership.
** Bakhtiar said, “The rule is for one who has the majority.”?
** Associated Press: Given the fact that Bakhtiar’s chances of success are increasingly fading, the spokesman of US Ministry of Foreign Affairs sufficed to expressing a light support for Bakhtiar.
** According to Time Magazine, the US ambassador to Iran Sullivan has demanded his colleagues to visit the dissidents of the regime and explain US policies to them.
** Head of CIA confessed that the organization had failed to accurately predict the state of affairs in Iran. He said, “The thing we failed to predict was that an old man of 78 year who had spent 14 years in exile may connect these forces.”?

** The Organization of People’s Fedayeen Guerillas declared in protest to Council on Islamic Revolution, “The revolutionary council must be composed of millions of strikers.”? Remarkably, such organizations that call themselves popular have ignored support of millions of people for Imam Khomeini and are after a place in the future system.
** 22 other MPs resigned.
** Some were martyred in the demonstrations of people in Aqajari.
