International Contest of Designing Memorial for Martyrs of Attack to Iranian Passenger Plane Will Be Held

According to the reporter of Navideshahed; Engineering and Memorials Affair Deputy of “Foundation for Preservation of Monuments and Dissemination of Values of Sacred Defense”? intends to hold a contest for designing the memorial for martyrs of attack to Iranian passenger plane. This department has invited all artists with any belief and nationality to participate at this contest considering the depth of this humanitarian disaster. All participants should pay attention to the following points:
1: Memorial can be in the form of “Memorial building”?, “Sculpture”?, “Conceptual art”? and decoration. 2: The memorial should include the concepts of being oppressed, loneliness and at the same time resistance of martyrs in this disaster. 3: The memorial will be placed on a land with an area of 6,000 square meters in beach park of Bandar Abbas City. 4: The memorial should have a global message and can communicate with all nations of the world. 5: There is no limitation for designing the memorial except that it should be suitable with the land considered for it. 6: The structure of the memorial should be durable in hot and moist weather of Bandar Abbas in south of Iran. And it should not be destroyed or rusted or the color should not be changed during time. 7: Designing lights in order that the memorial can be seen at night is included in the contest. 8: The memorial should have a good and suitable view from four sides and up.

Conditions to participate at the contest:
All artists should send his/her work to the secretariat of the contest as follows:
1: The modeled file along with colorful print of the design that shows it from four main directions should be sent to the secretariat. A brief introduction of the artist, artistic records and explanations on the design and the way it would be made and installed should be also sent to the secretariat as a typed text.
2: The plan should be presented in two sheets with the size of 50 *70 centimeters which are laminated.
3: Every person or group can only present one design at the contest.
4: The sheets that are sent to the secretariat should not include any name or sign that introduces the designer. Intro0duction of the designer and specifications of the plan should be sent as an attached file.
5: Designs should be sent to the secretariat of the contest latest by Shahrivar 21st 1387 (September 11th, 2008 and Ramezan 10th).
6: The selected design will be awarded a plaque of honor of the contest and amount of 4,000 Euros. The second and third selected designs will be also awarded the plaques of the contest and respectively 2,000 and 1,500 Euros. The fourth and fifth winners will also receive plaque of the contest and respectively 5 and 3 Bahar Azadi Gold Coins (Or equal foreign exchange for foreign participants). All participants at the contest will receive plaques of honor of the contest and certificate of participating at the contest.
