
TEHRAN, (SCIB) - In a seminar in the writers pavilion of Tehran international book fair, the impact of Quran on the Arabic language and literature was discussed. The seminar was chaired by Dr. Abbas Pour Abbasi Altayi, Dr. Adel Heydari and Dr. Abdulreza Attash. “Pre-Islamic Arab poetry was a vulgar and .... But Islamic poetry followed a decent language. During the early days of Islam, Heathens wouldn’t just assault Islam with their swords, they would wage verbal wars against Islam with their poetry.”? said Dr. Abbas Pourabbasi, who began the seminar. “Quran enabled Arab poets to express themselves in decent ways”? “It is not appropriate to discuss what impact Quran has had on Arabic literature, it is almost like asking what impact the Arabic language has had on its literature.”? Pour Abbasi added. Dr. Adel Heydari, the seminar’s other speaker emphasized the impact of Quran of people lives rather than its impact on Arab literature. “As a result of Quran, the many dialects of Arabic converged into one unified and mutually comprehensible language”? Heydari said. “No poet or literary scholar of time could produce a single sentence that would compare to the lines of Quran in its richness”? Dr. Abdulreza Attash continued by bringing up the technical image of the Quran. “We are talking about a book that invites us to humanity. A book that will bring happiness to anyone who follows its instructions”? “As a result of Quran, May new words entered the Arabic language, many old harsh words also left the language as a blessing of Quran”? Dr. Attash continued. The seminar was conducted by Altarigh-almobin institute.
