Wall Street Protests Inspired by Iranian Islamic Revolution

Navideshahed: Iranian cleric, Hujjat al-Islam Seyyed Kazem Seyyed Bagheri, emphasized the way Islamic Revolution in Iran can be inspiring for the people in other countries and called the recent uprising in European and the US is a consequence of the social gap between the people.

Hujjat al-Islam Seyyed Kazem Seyyed Bagheri, member of the academic board in the Institute of Culture and Islamic Thoughts elaborated on the way Islamic Revolution in Iran can provide a model for Wall Street protesters.

He hailed the Islamic Revolution in Iran and said basically the uprising of the people in Iran was a rise against injustice and oppression and was based on humane Islamic values.

"Efforts of the Iranian people against oppression and injustice can be the motto of any man in any time" said the cleric and added," Wall Street Occupy and the movements in European countries are in fact an uprising against capitalism, injustice and discrimination."

Uprising against injustice, according to the Iranian cleric, is a commonality of the people in the Islamic Revolution of Iran and Wall Street protests.

This member of Islamic studies center said Capitalism is derived from Liberalism and does not believe in justice stressing that, "Capitalism highlights liberty more than anything and a liberal capitalist is free to earn in whatever the way he can."

He said," The culture of Capitalism is derived from the culture of Liberalism and a natural consequence of that is a gap between social classes."

Hujjat al-Islam Seyyed Bagheri also said that this social gap is quite visible in Europe and the US stressing the Wall Street Movement mottos on confrontation of one pc and Û¹Û¹pc is a good proof on that.

He criticized the modern man for ignoring spirituality and his excess of rationalism to the point that God has no place in his affairs.

"Modern man is after materialism consequently justice is downgraded for him." said he and added that once a system highlights freedom, then people are free to earn more in any way possible for them.

According to this religious figure, in Liberalism gaining wealth is counted a high value and that can fade the importance of justice.
