When the German Reporter’s Heart Ached for Iranian Chemically Injured Patients
It was 4:30 in the evening of June 28, 1987 that four chemical bombs were dropped on the Kurdish city of Sardasht located in northwestern of Iran. Also three other chemical bombs were dropped on the surrounding villages. Right now 25 years have exactly passed since that chemical bombardment.
According to the reporter of Chemical Weapons Victims Information Base, the Deutsche Vale News Agency in an action as running forward expressed these sentences in order to remember the difficulties and suffering of Iranian people and it has apparently sympathized with them:
Saleh has looked after a partridge for several weeks. The wing of this partridge has been injured. When we wanted to come to the front lines of war from Karkheh, since there was no one to look after this bird, he had to bring this partridge to the battlefields. Now it can not fly so much, but its legs are so strong. He let this bird to go anywhere that it liked the day before yesterday as there were not so much bombardments and the health condition of this bird was almost ok. Now this bird had been so fresh. When this bird moved towards Iraqi forces directly, we were not worried so much. It was in the evening that this bird moved towards that area. All the persons were resting but only a few numbers of soldiers who were guarding. Saleh had lied down in front of the main trench. Suddenly something was thrown on his chest and all the soldiers woke up by this action. It was not believable, the poor partridge had been exposed to chemical weapons and it died in the hands of Saleh. We wondered to see that bird in that condition. After a few minutes we realized that the Baathist forces had used chemical weapons against us. The poor partridge had informed us that the Baathist forces have used chemical weapons. One of the war veterans shouted: “Iraqis Have Used Chemical gases, chemical gases!”
It was the description of one of the martyrs of Iran-Iraq war era who had written in his memories and it had been published by Hamshahri Instituate. Based on the notes of his spouse, this victim of chemical warfare was martyred after 20 years tolerating the pains resulted from chemical weapons.
These sentences of an Iranian martyr had been published in a German News Media not for blaming the activities of German government in supplying Saddam Hussein with chemical weapons and even they were not written because of blaming Saddam Hussein himself for bombarding Iran with chemical weapons, but also it was a running forward action again due to the criticism by the Iranian authorities?
Which country supplied Saddam Hussein with more chemical weapons?
According to this report, but this question should be asked from the official German News Agency that which country of the world supplied Saddam Hussein with more poisonous gases and chemical weapons? Were there some countries except Germany, Netherlands and France… present in supplying Iraq with such weapons? Doesn’t this German News Agency which claims it is a supporter of Iranian people wishes to ask this question from its governmental authorities that although they know the damageable effects of chemical weapons, still they supplied Saddam Hussein, with these weapons of mass destruction?
Indeed why the western news agencies and authorities always think that the third world countries owe them? When they supply countries with chemical weapons, they believe that they are right, when they burn the people with the same chemical weapons, still they think they have done something right and once again they feel sympathy with the people who have been burnt by chemical weapons, what is the reason?
