Who is Martyr Mohammad Nojeh?

Navideshahed: Having completed many missions before, Martyr Mohammad Nojeh was finally killed in action on August 11, 1979 while fasting and on a mission to help Dr. Chamran in quenching armed separatists.

Reviewing the glorious history of the Islamic Revolution from its victory until now indicates many marvelous and great events that compiling each of them requires a long period of time for the purpose of recording and writing them down. One of the significant events which have been lesser under attention in the history of Islamic Revolution has been the role of honest and loyal staff of the Islamic Republic of Iran in neutralizing the coup plan of the United States of America known as Nojeh coup.

Before discussing the issue of disclosing the coup story, it is necessary to inform the respectful readers that the third military air base of Hamedan has been named as martyr Nojeh Military Air Base and that sometimes mistakenly the U.S. coup has been used as a phrase for saving the revolution of Iran and this coup is remembered as Nojeh Coup.

Martyr Colonel Pilot Mohammad Nojeh was born in 1945 in Tehran city in a religious family. He continued his education until getting diploma qualification in his residence. He entered the Officers College at the same year and after accomplishing his university, he was dispatched to the United States of America in order to pass the Weapons Control System, but his intense interests to pilotage caused that he enters the Pilotage College of the Air Force.

He accomplished the primary course of pilotage in Iran and after that he went to the United States of America in order to complete his education. He succeeded to get the symbol and degree of pilotage in 1972 and he joined the Pilots of F-4 aircrafts.

Martyr Nojeh during the time of his service worked as the officer of Weapons Control System for the battalion 101 of Air Force, the chairman of the joint operations, the deputy of the sixths military base, the commander of the battalion 31 of the air base for the Islamic Republic of Iran’s Air Base and he did all of his services so honestly and sincerely.

This respectful martyr launched many commissions based on the demand of Imam Khomeini and eventually he was martyred when he was helping Dr. Chamran in suppressing the armed separatists while he had fasting as well. He was martyred on July 11, 1979 when he was flying in the sky. He was targeted by the anti-revolutionary militants in the sky of Kurdistan province of Iran, the public zone Paveh. During this event and according to the first martyr of the Air Force of the Islamic Republic of Iran, the third Air Force of Hamedan was named as Martyr Nojeh Military Base. This military base had been previously named as Shahrokhi military base, but after the victory of Islamic Revolution it was named as Hor Military Base, but right now it has the name of Nojeh Military Air Base.

Still a long time had not passed from the victory of Islamic Revolution that doing this coup for the purpose of overthrowing the newly Islamic Republic of Iran’s system was planned by the United States of America. The leaders of the coup contacted the Komola and Democrat party through Bakhtiyar. Also Bakhtiyar during some different meetings with Ghasemlu and Ezzaddin Husseini, had convinced them. The performers of the coup had compromised with other political currents such as MKO and Fadaeyan Khalgh meaning as ‘Guerrillas for Defense of People’. The operation was supposed to be started from the third air base of Hamedan and it be simultaneously done in other big cities of Iran including Tehran as well. Also some places such as schools, seminaries, the house of Imam Khomeini, the central committee, the promise minister headquarters, the mosques and religious centers were supposed to be bombarded by the aircrafts.

They had prepared 30 aircrafts, 60 pilots and about 500 hired technical, military and non-military agents for this operation.

The interesting issue regarding this matter is that in relation with the air force (choosing the third military base in Hamedan as a base for starting the movement of coup) is that this force during revolution time according to its promise to Imam Khomeini it got involved in a conflict against Shah’s guards on January 9, 1979 also on January 11-12, 1979 played a significant role for the victory of Islamic Revolution and now in order to make the revolution to face with a failure, the couple of Realism (Bakhtiyar) and Fascism (Oveisi) had focused all of their efforts on the air force; in a way that when Iraq attacked Iran, it initially attempted to target the air forces.

Not only you should not do this crime, but also you should inform the revolutionary agents and you should prevent the work. If you do something except this, I will never forgive you.

He got out from the house and after many searching and investigation, he went to the house of Ayatollah Khamenei almost in the morning prayer time. The supreme leader of the Islamic Revolution defines the story as follows:

It was the prayer time of a mourning that I felt someone was knocking on the door. I went there and I observed that they told me an Army man has come there and that he wanted to talk with me. I noticed that someone had leaned to the wall. When I saw him in that condition, I understood what he wanted to say. I told him what do you want to say to me?

He stood up and he said: Yes, I want to say something to you. I said: what do you want to say? He said: I want to say something significant to you and I would like to express this issue only to yourself… I had become so surprised to his words. It was possible that he wanted to do something against me, but since I found out that I can not ignore him. We sat down in a corner of the yard. The symptoms of sleeplessness, tiredness and concerns could be seen in his face. Anyways, what he said was that that a meeting had been held in Hamedan Air Base and a decision had been made for a coup and that much money have been given to different persons and that they have given money to himself too. We are supposed to bombard Jamaran and several other places. I asked: When they are supposed to launch this operation. He said: tonight. I noticed that the issue is so serious and that I must follow it up. I also thought that it might be a policy too and that they wish to amuse us, but at the same time the main issue was very significant that despite of the possibilities, it was necessary that I follow up the reality.

On the next day the Press wrote that the Coup was revealed and this coup was named as the mother’s feelings.

• The disclosure of the second person

A few hours after revealing the coup by the abovementioned pilot, one of the officials of the brigade 23 of Nohad also referred to the committee located in the Joint Staff Headquarters and after revealing the coup, he told them that some persons have decided to overthrow the Islamic Republic of Iran. He also offered a packet which consisted of a section of the coup plans. Therefore within a short period of time, the coup was revealed by two agents who were supposed to take part in the coup and they made the revolution aware of the real danger which had ambushed for it.

Even though this anti-coup was started by two persons, but the action of these two persons was an interpretation of the determination of a revolutionary nation’s Army in order to defend the revolution.

• Starting the neutralization operation

From the time that the possibility of occurring the coup was felt, a foundation consisting of Hamedan Corps Intelligence Units, the engineering group of Hamedan Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps, the Islamic Society of Air Force, some of the pious personnel of the Ground Force and Brigade Nohad was created. This foundation was named ‘Neutralization of the Coup’. But this foundation did not have effective and accurate information regarding the coup. But the information by the revealing the coup by the abovementioned pilot and a little information of the official of Nohad brigade were used for the neutralization coup. But these two persons were able to announce that a coup is going to take place and they were aware of this issue. By collecting information and completing that and according to the information which had been previously provided, the anti-coup operation was started in the pivot of Laleh Park and the Martyr Nojeh Air Base.

Laleh Park was the place of gathering for 40 pilots that they were supposed to go to Nojeh Air Base by a bus in order to join the other pilots of the coup.

The main forces that had been used for neutralization of Nojeh coup were concentrated in Martyr Nojeh Air Base and the operation related to the Nojeh Air base was implemented in two sections of inside and outside of this base. So in this case, at the same time of starting the coup, the revolutionary forces consisting of Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps and committed personnel and according to the sacrifices of the Air Base, they entered the battle and they taught a lesson to the agents of the coup that it became everlasting in the history of Islamic Revolution forever.

• Imam Khomeini and Nojeh Coup

Imam Khomeini after neutralization of the coup gave speech on July 11, 1980 in Jamaran Religious center to the clerics and to worshippers of Tehran and he said: The coup that was supposed to be launched against the Islamic Republic of Iran was suppressed by the people. In fact we did not notice how they wanted to implement this coup at first. These stupid persons had not noticed that we suppose that they had flown on the sky and they had bombarded some places, but eventually they needed to land, of you would stay in the air, but we are not afraid of such issues at all.”?

The Founder of the Islamic Republic of Iran leaves this conspiracy and coup so strongly and firmly (maybe another leader would be concerned about this issue). In fact this action of him indicated the greatness and his belief in God for the strength of Iran. Despite of being informed that a coup was going to take place against his house, he did not leave his home.

The U.S. coup known as ‘Saving the Revolution of Iran’ along with the interferences and hundreds of political, military, security, economic, cultural and diplomatic conspiracies, all show the animosity of the United States of America towards the Iranian nation and Islamic Revolution of Iran. The revolutionary and pious people of Iran by resorting Islam and by belief in God under the shade of obeying the Islamic Guardianship neutralized this conspiracy such as other threats and violations of the arrogance world.
