Supreme Leader’s Biography Unveiled

Navideshahed: The life story of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei was unveiled during a ceremony at the Art Bureau in Tehran on Saturday.

The ceremony was attended by Islamic Guidance and Culture Minister Seyyed Mohammad Husseini who expressed his gratitude to the book’s author and publisher saying: “Several works have been written about the contemporary history but they aren’t enough. Not many books have been written and compiled about the previous centuries particularly the last century, from the constitution so far. However some centers including the Islamic Revolution’s Documents Center or the Institute of political researches and studies were more active but some other groups outside Iran reflect the oral history oppositely, recounted by the Pahlavi regime’s criminals and courtiers.”?

“A program was recently broadcasted by a foreign channel about the last years of the Pahlavi regime in which those who weren’t familiar with the revolution’s history thought that the regime served the Iranian nation and world powers created the revolution, while we should write our own history for it to be source,”? he added.

He then said that the Institute of political researches and studies (the book’s publisher) has held several conferences in the field of Iran’s contemporary history and added: “The center has released many books and journals about historical studies including “The calendar of the Islamic Revolution”? and it is among the credible institutes which works on Iran’s contemporary history.”?

The public and the elites need to know about the contemporary history. Such books are indeed welcomed in foreign countries as well. They are eager to render such books and are translating some works currently, he added.

With all its benefits, the Supreme Leader’s biography (titled His Name's Interpretaion) had the capacities to hold more interviews since such books and it strong points can prevent history distortion, he noted.

He went on to say that every chapter of the book can be released as a separate book. For instance the Supreme Leader’s exile to Iranshahr or Jiroft can be a book which can recount the period’s incidents presenting photos and documents.

The book is written by Heydatollah Behbudi and figures including Baratali Tabarzadi, Mansur Ghafuri, Mojtaba Soltani, Ali-Akbar Ranjbar Kermani, Leila Qadyani and Sima Musapur had helped him in compiling the information for the book.

Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance Seyyed Mohammad Hosseini, Art Bureau Director Mohsen Momeni-Sharif and a number of cultural officials were in attendance at the ceremony.
