"Peace and War" Article Series to Appear in English Monthly

Navideshahed: The world will get familiar with Iran’s Sacred Defense Literature by publishing a series of articles titled ‘War and Peace’ penned by Mohammad Badaghi in the English Language Magazine ‘Islamic Awakening’. These articles will be released by the collaboration of the Islamic Thought Foundation that belongs to the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization.

Mohammad Badaghi, the writer and researcher in the Sacred Defense Literature field in an exclusive interview with the reporter of Navideshahed announced this news and he said: “We are struggling to release some continuous articles in the magazines of other countries in order to familiarize the world with Iran’s Sacred Defense Literature. That is why in the first volume of this magazine, we have described the date of Iraq’s attack against Iran which was the source of the Imposed War Era. Also in this magazine we explained this issue that what types of weapons were deployed against Iranians during the Iran-Iraq war.”?

Badgahi pointed out to this issue that he has decided to explain the champions’ stories of the war and he added: “This work was keyed in April 2012. I would like to distribute the memories associated to the Sacred Defense Era (the memories of Sacred Defense soldiers) in Spanish language in South America. The translation work of these texts has been done by Dr. Feizollahi from the College of Foreign Languages.”?

He also referred to this issue that he believes that the war between Iran and Iraq became a source for production of new Shahnameh and he added: “During the 100 next years, Iran will have two Shahnameh books and one of these books will be related to the Iran-Iraq war and the other is related to Ferdowsi.”?

This researcher of the Sacred Defense Era pointed out to this issue that the second article of the series articles ‘War and Peace’ will be released after holy Ramadan month and he said: “The subject of this article is related to the stories which have occurred for Iran during the war, the strange stories that the people of the world are interested to know about them so much. For example the subject of the second article is about Colonel Rafih Ghafari. The translation of this work has been done by the University Students studying in Sweden. The magazine will be released soon too.”?

This writer and war veteran also mentioned the names of the persons and characters who created epics and sacrifices during the Sacred Defense Era and he added: “The armored Army 92 of Ahvaz from the Ground Force that resisted lonely in the western side of Karoon River against 7 Iraqi Armies and martyr major general Seyed Masoud Monfared, the brave commander of the Armored Army 92. During Beitol Moghadas operation (a military operation which took place for liberation of Khorramshahr) he was informed that his daughter has been affected to a very bad disease and that she is passing the final moments of her lifetime and that he must return to Tehran. But he did not leave the battlefields and he stayed with his soldiers and 47 days after the death of his beloved one and liberation of Khorramshahr, he returned to Tehran city. Indeed during these 47 days, what the father thought about his daughter. Devotee colonel Rafih Ghafari made an epic related to the ground force that became everlasting; during 4 years, he devastated 142 tanks and he killed 51 armored forces of the enemy and this sacrifice is something rare in the war histories of the world. He is a strong man that despite of being injured several times, he never abandoned hunting the tanks of the enemy. When the war was started, Abshenasan, the Commander of the Army 21 of Hamzeh accepted the responsibility of the irregular wars and he was nicknamed as the Lion of Desert. When Fidel Castro heard the story of him, he was so surprised. Most of the experts believe that some characters like Riz Ali Khajavi who is considered as a manifestation of sacrifice in the Persian literature saved the lives of passenger of a train, but martyr Ghafari saved the lives of the whole Iran. Martyr Lieutenant Esmael Zareiyan was a great military man and he was one of the agents who played a significant role for the liberation of Khorramshahr. During the war, the Iraqi television asked him to surrender several times. At the time of martyrdom he lost both of his hands and he did not see his child at all. Major General Abolfazl Shaban, the commander of Shahadat Battalion of the Ground Force who was a world of passion and he was known as Uncle Shaban. He and his kindness were left in the battlefields forever. Martyr Amir Hooshang Bernoos, one of the commanders of the Army Ground Force despite of this issue that a mine had been exploded on his face, he did not leave the landmine up to the time that he cleared all the mines and prepared the land in order to launch a military operation against the enemy. Also his devotee brother naval man Mohamamd Bernoos repaired a warship under the most difficult and tough situation in which the enemy was bombarded the Persian Gulf with so much fires. He repaired the warship within four hours. Martyr Falahi was a sacrificer soldier for his country who fought from Vietnam until breaking the siege of Abadan city and the epic of Dezh garrison is really fantastic and marvelous about him. But we must not forget the soldiers at all, because they have the highest statistic of presence in the battlefields. Also the Support Soldiers at that time that the country required forces (the soldiers who went to the military service in 1977) wore the military uniforms once again and they went to the war in order to defend their country. The soldiers put some memories in their hearts which have many interesting and extraordinary events. A soldier who had bachelor degree and whose name was martyr Enshayee did many sacrifices. He was a scout in the frontiers and when he observed the crowds of enemy, he announced his location to the Iranian artillery and in addition of destroying the enemy forces, he himself was martyred as well; the soldier Yosof Heidari that during the final days of the war went to the frontiers lonely and by delivering some grenades to fight against the enemy tanks and the soldier Siroos Nasoodari and Davoud Zolfi Gol who resisted until the final drop of his blood a defense that still is being continued.

The martyred pilots including martyr Abbas Dowran, martyr Shiroodi, martyr Keshvari, martyr Babayee, martyr Khazraei and martyr Lashgari who tolerated 6410 days of captivity alone. The epic of martyr admiral Hemmati, the commander of Peikan Frigate who created a history for our country has been mentioned in the magazine.

Mohammad Badaghi continued: I as a servant of the Sacred Defense Era that I write the war memories related to the cultural affairs, I am proud of my work and I can provide much information in this field and I appreciate this work.”?

He at the end of the interview thanked his respectful friends living in Sweden including the university students and he said: “These persons really are so active and they translate the texts that I send to them. I really thank them specially Miss Mohebbi, one of the university students studying in Sweden.”?
