Writer publishes book of paintings he drew as a child

Entitled “Color, Color, War: Narrations from the Childhood of a Child of the War Generation”?, the book contains sixty paintings, which have been selected from the sketchbooks Hesam-Mazaheri had from the age 6 to 10, he told the Persian service of MNA on Sunday.
He said that the book, which also carries his memories of the time, aims to present some seemingly unimportant documents from the war time and added, “The book targets adults and in some way, it is a narrative about the childhood of children who lived in the wartime.”?
Hesam-Mazaheri found the sketchbooks by accident among possessions remaining from his childhood. A number of his friends encouraged him to publish the works.
“The paintings were formed based on the certain situation of my life in the war areas and in my opinion, the paintings are typically documents from the wartime,”? he added.
He expressed his hope that publishing the book is beginning of a genre of memoir writing in Persian literature.
“Color, Color, War”? was released by Arma Publications last week.
Hesam-Mazaheri is the author of “God’s Smoker Agent”?, a book which he wrote based on his recorded chats with people he met every day in taxies in Tehran, Isfahan and several other cities.
