Love’s Blossom
The battalions of Karbala 2 from Shahrood city had come to Hamidiyeh battalion that was passing the basic army periods. The weather was so warm, the temperature was more than 40 degree, so the sandy lands of Hamidiyeh was a little interesting for us. The battalions of Karbala 2 had only a few kilometers distances with each other. Even though they were physically separated from each other, but in fact the lovely connection between soldiers of these two battalions day by day would be more.
I was in the battalion of Karbala. I had heard the sound of a God’s lover in this battalion, I had not or maybe seen him yet, but I did not know him. A teenager "Mohammad Dehghan Nejad", he had left his job welding and had come to war environment. When I got familiar with him, I found a strange heart feeling. In fact he was a strange person, and with the little age he had, he was a very strong person for fighting and war. He had become populated for other soldiers.
He used to come to our place by passing three kilometers and talk with us. When he was talking about martyrdom, his eyes would be full of tears. When he understood I liked his behavior said to me: if you want me to be your friend, you should recite your night pray, first I pretended something. When I saw that the matter is serious, I said to him if God accepts my pray I will perform my night pray. He said if I have the problem of getting up, he would awake me. I said my problem is this one, because I thought he would not be able to awake me! At that night at 3 or 2 AM he came to me and made me to get up. Said it’s time for night pray. I was sleepy and said night pray? He said it was supposed you pray at night as well. I was amazed by his behavior for a few nights. At that night I got habited with his behavior.
I understood he does not sleep at nights. And later I understood he polishes the shoes and washes the dishes and clothes as well. In the Mehran military operation, his battalion was requested to go in there. In that battalion one military group had broken the line of enemy and was going more ahead. Some of them were fighting with enemy. Since the three battalions had attacked enemy at the same time, only the middle battalion was able to break the line of enemy.
The other two battalions had to retreat. So the Iraqi people were attacking Iranians from three sides. The middle battalion was being cut. Then by the demand of our commander we started to retreat. Dehghan Nejad was the responsible person for wireless phone of battalion, when he heard this news went back to the back side of war. In this moment everybody was thinking about the military group had been sent to the land of enemy to fight with them. Since this group did not have any wireless phone for connecting, one of the battalion soldiers ought to say this news to them directly face to face. The person who wanted to go to them was not clear if he would certainly comeback. Every body was looking on each other. Suddenly Mohammad submitted the wireless phone and he started to go to the forces that were fighting with enemy. At the moment no one thought this teenager who should be responsible for battalion wireless phone performs this courageous action.
He performed this work for saving the life of many soldiers. The circle of surrounding had been more shut. Dehghan Nejad with some other soldiers such as Martyr Abbas Birjandi, Martyr Hassan Frumadi, and Martyr Rajab Ali Samani accepted the invitation of God and Martyrized.
