Martyrs memorial site to be built in Tehran University campus

TEHRAN, (SCIB) - The foundation of martyrs and Veterans’ affairs is cooperating with University of Tehran in the construction of a memorial site for martyrs in the university campus, the administrative and financial deputy of the university made public.

Dr. Mohammad Hossein Omid, financial and administrative deputy of Tehran University told Shahed reporter that the memorial site is planed to be located opposite the main gate in the southern wing of the university loan area. The construction of this memorial site will begin this summer and end in the October of the same year. Dr. Omid stated that Tehran University has contributed 400 martyrs from among its students and staff. “A large stone wall will be erected against the main gate of the university. Engraved on this wall will be the university’s logo, lines of the Holy Quran together will angels’ wings indicating the flight of the university’s martyrs.”? he elucidated. With the assistance of the Foundation of Martyrs and Veterans Affairs, another memorial site is planned to be put up next to the campus mosque.
