Martyrs refine history and cultures

TEHRAN, (SCIB)- on the auspicious occasion of the anniversary of the liberation of Khoramshahr, a memorial ceremony was held by the military college of Imam Sadegh university, to honor the memory of 14000 martyrs and army generals of Iran’s Northern provinces.

Addressing the families of martyrs present in the ceremony, head of the commemoration committee of the Northern provinces of Mazandaran and Golestan stated: “Martyrs refined our history and culture; they taught the society how to stand up against foreign invaders”? The leader’s representative in Saari University, Hojjat-ol-eslam Nikzad, was the ceremony’s next speaker. He referred to Quranic lines on war, jihad and martyrdom in his speech. “Martyrdom is the ultimate wish of pure devotees to God. Imam Ali (PBUH) considered martyrdom his biggest wish ever.”? Nikzad said. Subsequently, former military commanders recounted their memories of the hardships of the days of sacred defense, focusing on their recollections of the days of resistance in Khoramshahr until its final liberation on May 24.
