Iran, the Backbone of Islamic Resistance in the World

Speaking in a gathering of prayer imams in Mashhad, Dr Ali Akbar Velayati added that the Islamic Awakening movement was a revival of Islamic values in the world.

He pointed to the events in Syria, saying that if the crisis in Syria continues, it may spill over to Palestine, Iraq and Iran, but Bashar Assad will not fall and his remaining in power will signify the fourth victory Iran has indirectly achieved.

“Today, Assad’s victory over the rebellions and the American plots indicates the fourth victory of Iran in the region,”? Dr Velayati underlined.

He further said the world is entering a new multi-polar stage where the Islamic world is one of the determining powers.

Supreme Leader’s advisor in international affairs said that in terms of culture, the world is bi-polar.

There is the front of spirituality and religious values, whose main part is the Muslim world and there is the front of indifference to religion, which is led by the US, he said.

Dr Velayati noted that there have been numerous awakening movement in history but the only one that achieved victory was the Islamic Revolution of Iran, which in turn led to the spread of Islamic Awakening movement in the world.

“Obviously, Iran has been the flag-bearer of Islamic Awakening and played the main role in its development,”? he added.

He also pointed to the acts of blasphemy in the West, including the American-Zionist anti-Islam movie and said such measures were out of desperation and a result of turmoil in American and European societies.
