Iranian Christians Condemn Insulting Movie on Prophet Mohammed

Navideshahed: The Assyrian Church of East and the Chaldean Catholic Church, the main two Christian churches in Iran, in a joint statement strongly condemned the recent insult to Islam's Prophet Mohammad (PBUH).

"We, on behalf of the Assyrian and Chaldean Christians, strongly condemn the insulting and fake US-Zionist movie against the holy prophet of Islam, released under the excuse of freedom of expression," said the statement signed by Christian leaders in Iran.

The Christian leaders also voiced their disgust at the "immoral move", saying that the movie is against the divine laws and teachings of monotheism.

The anti-Islam film has drawn condemnation from numerous countries including Afghanistan, Egypt, Libya, Indonesia, Malaysia, Bangladesh, Iran, Yemen, Iraq, Pakistan, Somalia, Sudan, Morocco, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, etc.

In Iran, millions of Iranians in Tehran and other cities across the country held nationwide rallies in protest against the recent desecration of Islam.

The Iranian protesters chanted "Death to the US" and "Death to Israel" slogans, expressing disgust at the US and the Zionist regime's anti-Islam policies.

The film called "Innocence of Muslims", previously called Desert Warriors and Innocence of Bin Laden, is a 2012 anti-Muslim movie which insults Muslims' Prophet Mohammad (PBUH). The film has been financed by more than 100 Jews and produced by an American-Israeli man in the US.

The film was being promoted by a Florida pastor, Terry Jones, known for previous Quran-burning stunts that angered Muslims in various countries.
