NAM Summit will Neutralize Enemies' Plots to Spread Iranophobia

Navideshahed: The 16th heads-of-state summit of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) in Tehran next week will defuse enemies' efforts to spread Iranophobia, a member of the Iranian parliament stressed.

Speaking on Thursday, Abbasali Mansouri said the presence of leaders of more than 120 countries in the NAM summit would nullify all the Iranphobia plots hatched by the global arrogance.

He also asked Iranian officials should do their best to well host the meeting.

He further noted that the Summit will end up in favor of all the oppressed nations.

Some 51 countries have so far announced their participation in the NAM Summit at the highest level, Iranian officials said, and added that the number is growing.

The 16th NAM summit will be held in the Iranian capital, Tehran, from August 26 to 31.

NAM is comprised of some 120 member states and 17 observer countries.

NAM is an international organization of states considering themselves not formally aligned with or against any major power bloc. NAM is the largest grouping of countries outside of the United Nations.

NAM member states represent nearly two-thirds of the United Nations' members and comprise 55% of the world population, particularly countries considered to be developing or part of the Third World.
