Bahraini Forces Attack Protesters in Dar Kulaib

Navideshahed: The Saudi-backed forces used tear gas and rubber bullets to disperse the protesters in the village of Dar Kulaib, about 30 kilometers (18 miles) southwest of Manama, on Sunday.

Police beat to death Husam al-Haddad when they carried out an attack on a peaceful demonstration in the city of Muharraq, northwest of the capital, on August 17.

Also on Sunday, demonstrations were held in the northern villages of Daih and Sehla to condemn the killing of Haddad.

In Saudi Arabia’s Eastern Province, protesters took to the streets in the Qatif region to hold similar demonstrations on the same day.

Bahraini protesters have been holding demonstrations against the ruling Al Khalifa family since February 2011 and they hold King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa responsible for the deaths of the demonstrators throughout the uprising.

Bahrain hosts the US Fifth Fleet and is among the Persian Gulf countries such as Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates that receive military equipment from the United States.
