Works of Cartoonists from 33 Countries on Palestine Exhibited

Navideshahed: The superiors of the international cartoon match ‘Return to Home’ were introduced and a show related to the superior works of this match was held at Palestine’s contemporary arts Museum.

According to Fars News Agency's correspondent in visual arts, the cartoon exhibition of "Return to Home" consists of some works from the cartoonists of 33 countries of the world. Their works is related to the subject of Palestinian refugees return to their homelands and the criticism against the occupation of Jerusalem. The show is being held at Palestine’s Contemporary Arts Museum.

Ghafoori, the secretary of The International Union of Unified Ummah during the opening ceremony of this show said: “This show is held for the purpose of the global movement of Jerusalem Caravan. It was a caravan that last winter consisted of representatives from 80 countries of the world with different religions an they moved towards Jerusalem by the motto of Jerusalem and Palestine’s freedom, but what caused this movement to become everlasting was the artistic events which occurred for the statement of this message to the world. Therefore this match has been held in this regards as well.”?

He also named the pivots of this match as ‘The right of return of Palestinian refugees to their homelands’ and ‘The criticism against the occupation of Jerusalem as a sacred land of all the religions’ and he added: “This match has been held by the cooperation of Caricature House and its calling for attendance was announced before and about 500 works from 174 artists from 33 countries of the world have been sent to the Secretariat of this match and eventually 449 works were judged and about 110 works were selected for the show.”?

The secretary of The International Union of Unified Ummah also pointed out to the non-Muslim artists who have taken part in this match and he said: “The presence of non-Muslim artists in this match indicates that apart from the religious affairs, the artists according to their humanitarian aspects are against the occupation of Palestine by the Israeli regime and they have illustrated this opposition of themselves in their works as well.”?

At the continuation of this ceremony, the superiors and 1000-dollar winners of the match were introduced. The Jury team consisted of Marsio Liteh from Barazil, Hikabi Damirchi from Turkey along with Mohammad Hussein Niromand, Abulfazl Mohtarami and Mohammad Reza Doost Mohammadi from Iran rewarded the 1000-dollar prizes to Masoud Ziyaei, Bahman Jalali and Mehdi Azizi from Iran.”?

Also according to the votes of Jury Team of this match, Homayon Mohammadi, the Iranian living in UK, Arif Soteristano from Indonesia, Fakhr Al-Din Doust Mohammadi from Iran, Luk Daschimiker from Belgium and Saeed Sadeghi from Iran were appreciated as well.

According to Fars News Agency, the show will be running until Tuesday, September 4, 2012 and the interested persons can visit this cartoon show and the works available all the days from 10:00 to 19:00 and during the Ramadan month from 10:00 to 17:00.

This show is also open on Friday, August 17, 2012 on the Anniversary of Qud Day Demonstration for the interested persons.
