Supreme Leader to Poets:

Tyrannical Oppression in Nuclear Issue, Scientists Assassination, Today

Navideshahed: Referring to the oppression on Iran for the nuclear issue and the assassination of Iranian nuclear scientists as Iran's current issues, the Supreme Leader asserted: "Summoning all their strength and applying all their evil propaganda and politics, the global hegemons are confronting the Iranian nation; however, our nation resists and this shall not be overlooked by a committed poet, because in the confrontation of the good and evil, one cannot remain idle."

In a meeting with Iranian young poets and Persian literature professors on the anniversary of Imam Hassan's birth, Ayatollah Khamenei, the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution, referred to the fact that the poetry league in Iran has chosen the right direction and advances with care and a good pace, and reiterated: "Staying on the same league in poetry, our beloved country, Iran, will again contribute literary riches to the culture and civilizations of the globe and especially the region."

"Being a vehicle to express the poetic feelings, poem should also serve values in a society, and a poet committed to his duty and responsibility brings this divine gift in service to religion, morality, revolution, and promoting knowledge," His Highness added.

Considering conceptualization and following it inspirations as necessary, His Highness assreted: "Poems could be in service of religious understanding, morality, and revolutionary movements, and this will come true even with one or two couplets on revolution, morality, or religious understanding in a sonnet."

Referring to the importance of the three pillars of poetry as being descent language, conceptualization and concept seeking, and smooth poetic feelings, His Highness added: "Poetry cannot be idle to the current issues of the state, or ignore them."
