Turks Rally in Support of Palestinian Prisoners

Navideshahed: A Turkish demonstration in downtown Istanbul on Friday marched in solidarity with Palestinian prisoners who have been on hunger strike for almost four weeks in Israeli occupation jails.

A group of human rights institutions and civil society organizations led by the Turkish Association Ozgur Dar, active in the defense of public freedoms, organized the rally that marched in the main street of the famous Al-Fateh square.

The Palestinian liberated prisoners, who are residing in Turkey, took part in the demonstration. Moussa Akkari, one of them, gave a speech on the behalf of ex-prisoners and the Palestinian community in Turkey.

The demonstrators raised slogans condemning the Israeli Prison Service’s practices against the prisoners which escalated after “Wafaa Al-Ahrar”? deal, under which more than a thousand Palestinian prisoners were freed.

The activist Ayman Harara, the head of the Turkish-Arab Youth Forum told PIC, "The Turkish people’s support for the Palestinian just cause is escalating, and is expressed through peaceful and different means.”?

He applauded the Turkish government for supporting the Palestinian people to regain their freedom and their usurped rights.
