There is no Freedom of Speech or Thought in Bahrain

Navideshahed: The Secretary General of Association of the Bahraini National Democratic Alliance Fadel Abbas emphasized that detaining Nabil Rajab, the legal activist and the chief of Bahrain’s Human Rights Center indicates the false claims of Al Khalifa and the lack of freedom of thought and expression.”?

Fadel Abbas in an exclusive interview with Al-Alam News Network declared: “The accusations of the Bahraini authorities to Nabil Rajab, the legal activist and the chief of Bahrain’s Human Rights Center are related to his writing in a social network on internet and before this he had been threatened due to his claims.”?

He added: “Detaining Nabil Rajab indicated the false claims of the regime, specially the declaration of the king on the global day of Medias regarding the freedom of Medias and freedom of speech in Bahrain for the public opinion.”?

Abbas emphasized: “Detaining Nabil Rajab indicates that there is no freedom of thought in Bahrain.”?

He outlined: “The Bahraini regime by detaining Nabil Rajab attempts to create fears and frightening in the country once again and Al Khalifa tries to say to the political and Human Rights characteristics of Bahrain that anyone who criticize the regime, he/she would be jailed.”?

The Secretary General of Association of the Bahraini National Democratic Alliance declared: “Before this, the Bahraini regime announced its new security plans and it seems that its signs are the assassination of activists in Bahrain and detaining the political and Human Rights leaders in this country.”?

Abbas stipulated: “The amendments known as constituational amendments are only cosmetic amendments and they won’t return the power to people, because still there is a king who governs and determines the government and or removes the posts and he specifies the members of the Consultation Council.”?

He emphasized: “The peaceful protests in Bahrain will be continued and the opposition groups won’t be influenced by detaining of their leaders. The detained persons are only the hostages of the regime and the government wants to stop the people moment and revolution which started on February 14 through these hostages.”?

"The opposition will voice their solidarity with Nabil Rajab in the coming days," he said.
